For three consecutive days -15 – 17 April, together with representatives of organizations from all over the country we were part of the annual meeting of RavniBG!
We exchanged experiences, successes and discussed the challenges facing the civil society sector. The programme also included presentations and many useful workshops. The key panelists were Nadia Shabani and Zahari Yankov from the Bulgarian Center for Not-for-Profit Law (BCNL), Katya Krustanova from Animus and Olga Mineva from Emprove gave us a presentation on the work of the Civil Society Development Council (CSDC) and the National Council for Prevention and Protection from Domestic Violence. The addressed topics were the occasion for a discussion, followed by a workshop, media training with Anna Tsolova under the title “Speak up to be seen”. Cases and case studies from the civil society sector were discussed, good practices for impactful storytelling were shared and a practical group game related to proper speaking was held. Adv. Denitsa Lyubenova gave a lecture on “LGBTI+ Strategic Legislation”. Different cases and struggles of the LGBTI organization “Action” were discussed, the Bulgarian Fund for Women team gave a lecture on the Solidarity Fund* and answered questions related to it. Participants were then divided into groups and discussed the advantages and disadvantages of funding models where communities themselves decide how the funds allocated to them should be distributed.
We look forward to the next such meeting! With thanks to the RavniBG team!
